Our Story

Supporting Military-Connected Students

Founded on May 10, 2021, the National Veterans Leadership Foundation (NVLF) is committed to empowering military-connected students as they transition into higher education and prepare for purposeful careers.

In partnership with more than 70 colleges and universities nationwide, NVLF enhances the higher education experience and drives long-term success. Through innovative programming, NVLF is strengthening veteran support offices, fostering leadership development, and creating clear campus-to-career pathways.

At NVLF, we believe military-connected students are more than participants in campus life; they are leaders. Their unique experiences, resilience, and perspective enrich the academic community and help shape campuses into stronger, more inclusive environments for all students.

Signature Programs

Military Community Advocates (MCAs): Student leaders who receive service scholarships for building inclusive, military-friendly programs and policies across campus.

NVLF Leadership Fellows: A select group of top Advocates from across the country participates in an in-depth leadership workshop designed to elevate their impact.

Career Pathways: Programs designed to connect students with industry leaders, career coaching, mentorship, and networking. Advocates help recruit fellow students, strengthening the pipeline from military service to civilian careers.

Building Campus and Community Support

Leadership Forum: An annual gathering that brings together campus leaders, from veteran services to development and career office, to grow institutional support for military-affiliated students.

Advancement Awards: Seed funding for campus events that highlight military-connected students and foster greater engagement from community leaders and supporters.
