Pathway in
STEM
NVLF’s STEM Pathway Program supports Military Community Advocates (MCAs) who have developed Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) service programs and military-connected students pursuing careers in STEM. The program provides opportunities to develop relevant leadership experience in STEM fields while on campus. It pairs military-connected students with mentorship, networking, and career planning resources to support their service programs and their post-college transition into careers in STEM.
The NVLF STEM Pathway helps military-connected students recognize and pursue career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while making a positive difference on their campuses. Building a corps of STEM MCAs and military-connected students serves two purposes:
• expanding supportive services for the military-connected community on college campuses; and
• elevating career opportunities for those seeking to transition into STEM fields.
STEM Program Components:
• Leadership development through campus-based STEM initiatives
• Direct mentorship from STEM professionals and industries leaders
• Networking opportunities with STEM organizations and employers
• Career planning support tailored to STEM sectors’ requirements
• Service scholarship support for military-connected students developing STEM programs
• Professional development workshops focused on STEM industries trends and opportunities
