Entrepreneurship

Every entrepreneur needs the same things a good unit needs: a mission, a team you trust, and the resolve to keep moving when things get hard. Military-connected students already have that foundation. The Entrepreneurship Pathway helps them build the rest.

This program supports Military Community Advocates (MCAs) who have developed entrepreneurial service programs, as well as military-connected students pursuing careers as entrepreneurs. It gives them the chance to build real leadership experience in entrepreneurship while still on campus, allowing them the chance to build a network and career planning resources that support both their service programs and their transition into business ownership after graduation. For military-connected MCA students, it’s also an excellent way to explore what it actually means to be an entrepreneur before committing to the career, testing the reality of the path against the idea of it while the stakes are still low.

By helping military-connected students recognize and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, while making a tangible difference on their campuses, the Pathway builds a corps of entrepreneurship-minded MCAs and students who serve two purposes:

• Expanding supportive services for the military-connected community on college campuses
• Elevating career opportunities for those pursuing entrepreneurship

Program Components:

• Professional development workshops focused on entrepreneurship trends and opportunities
• Leadership development through campus-based entrepreneurship initiatives
• Direct mentorship from, and networking opportunities with, working entrepreneurs
• Career planning support tailored to entrepreneurship
• Service scholarship support for military-connected students developing entrepreneurship-related programs
